Staff from laboratories participating in the VF-B 2026 Vitreous Fluid Postmortem Surveys program can individually earn CE credit reading the Participant Summary, accessed online or within this activity, and answering online learning assessment questions. The online learning assessment questions are designed to reinforce concepts and discussion points presented in the reading.

Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Compare the primary missions, workflows, and interpretive priorities of clinical and forensic toxicology laboratories.
  2. Explain how specimen type, analytical method, presumptive versus confirmatory testing, and chain of custody affect toxicology result interpretation.
  3. Discuss the role of pathologists in integrating clinical and forensic toxicology findings to improve patient care, medicolegal interpretation, and laboratory stewardship.
