M-A 2023: EBV Serology

All laboratory personnel from a laboratory that participated in the M-A 2023 Cerebrospinal Fluid Chemistry Surveys program may complete this activity.

Description
Staff from laboratories participating in the M-A 2023 Cerebrospinal Fluid Chemistry Surveys program can individually earn CE credit by reading the Participant Summary (mailed to the institution or accessed online) and answering online learning assessment questions. The online learning assessment questions are designed to reinforce concepts and discussion points presented in the reading.

Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Discuss the biology and life cycle of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV).
  2. Define the disease states associated with EBV with better focus on infectious mononucleosis (IM).
  3. Assess the diagnostic targets available to better interpret results.
