This anatomic pathology activity is intended for pathologists who have basic to moderate knowledge and skills in breast pathology and want to develop their skills in diagnosing rare lesions and new entities.
Description
This activity discusses the importance of radiologic pathologic concordance in breast core needle biopsy, as well as covering some common differential diagnostic challenges. Pitfalls in the diagnosis of triple negative tumors will also be presented, including discussion of the ramifications of misclassification as primary breast carcinomas in an era of neoadjuvant systemic therapy.

Objectives

- Understand how best to differentiate the commonly encountered diagnostic challenges on breast core needle biopsy.
