C-B 2024: Creatinine

All laboratory personnel from a laboratory that participated in the C-B 2024 General Chemistry and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Surveys program.

Description
Staff from laboratories participating in the C-B 2024 General Chemistry and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Surveys program can individually earn CE credit by reading the Participant Summary (mailed to the institution or accessed online) and answering online learning assessment questions. The online learning assessment questions are designed to reinforce concepts and discussion points presented in the reading.

Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Identify the value of the creatinine test in the estimation of renal glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).
  2. Describe the different eGFR equations and current recommendation for standardizing eGFR.
  3. Recognize the methods for creatinine analysis in the central laboratory and at the point-of-care.
