Intended Audience
This program is tailored for early-career pathologists and those transitioning into new roles who seek a comprehensive, practical review to support daily practice. It covers key topics in both anatomic and select clinical pathology, complemented by professional development sessions designed to enhance confidence and competence in general practice settings.


Note: This program is not intended to be a board review course, or to replace residency or subspecialty training.

Description
This program is designed to support pathologists who are either early in their careers or transitioning into new professional roles. The program provides a comprehensive and pragmatic review of core topics in anatomic pathology and select areas of clinical pathology, with a focus on practical application in daily practice. In addition to clinical content, the program includes sessions dedicated to professional development, offering strategies for effective communication, leadership, and career advancement. Through expert-led lectures, case-based discussions, and interactive sessions, participants will enhance their diagnostic confidence, strengthen foundational knowledge, and gain tools to support their professional growth. The program also fosters peer engagement and collaboration, creating a supportive learning environment for shared experiences and best practices.

Objectives
After completing this program, you should be able to:

  1. Improve efficiency and accuracy in case sign-out by applying best practices in areas outside subspecialty training.
  2. Enhance decision-making in pathology practice, including recognizing near misses, common pitfalls, and knowing when to seek expert consultation.
  3. Effectively manage laboratory operations and professional responsibilities, such as serving as a medical director, overseeing quality assurance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Apply correct billing and coding practices to maximize reimbursement and maintain compliance.
