Description
Your point-of-care staff calls to inform you they had 10 patient armband barcodes misread by the glucose analyzer over the weekend. This case will discuss how to investigate this problem and determine the risks and consequences.

Objectives

1. Distinguish between linear and two-dimensional barcodes and the elements needed to implement each.
2. Describe potential issues associated with improper configuration of barcodes.
3. Generate the steps required to properly investigate and respond to a barcode misread.
