Intended Audience
This informatics pathology activity is intended for to medical directors, pathologists, and residents.
Description
Pathology is undergoing a digital transformation. It is becoming increasingly more important for laboratories to have access to equipment and software that enables the use of innovative diagnostic tools such as machine learning/artificial intelligence. This activity will highlight the pre-analytic considerations needed to ensure success in implementing a digital pathology system (eg, assessing needs, laboratory and scanning workflows) and showcase best practices.
Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:
- Utilize the pre-analytic workflows to successfully deploy a digital pathology system.
- Evaluate the performance of a digital pathology system to be used in the clinical setting.
- Analyze the clinical value of technologies to encourage adoption.
