GI Blooper Reel: Tales of Diagnoses Gone Wrong

Pricing: Member: $40.00 NonMember: $52.00 Junior Member: $10.00

Intended Audience
This anatomic pathology activity is intended for pathologists.

Description
This activity prepares pathologists for success by providing an exploration of various pathological conditions, with a focus on samples from the gastrointestinal tract and liver. Participants will learn to distinguish between different histomorphologic congeners, recognize normal tissues sampled during targeted needle biopsies, and identify gastrointestinal metastases that mimic primary neoplasms. The course will cover pitfalls related to, but not limited to, adenocarcinoma metastatic to the small bowel, epithelioid hemangioendothelioma, and epithelioid gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Through real-life examples, attendees will gain insights into the diagnostic challenges and pitfalls in GI and liver pathology, enhancing their ability to make accurate diagnoses and improve patient outcomes.

This activity was presented at the 2024 CAP Pathology in the Mountains as part of the activity GI Blooper Reel: Tales of Diagnoses Gone Wrong.
